They were a party that supported the peasants. They believed in the people and the land that they lived on. Wanted to convert all of Russia into a socialist state.
b. liberal reformers
Wanted to evolve russia to a more western european style . They believed in individual liberty and they were seen as people that were going to carry out the words of the people.

- They were peasants
- They produced all the food for the country and the army during the revolutions and wars
- They lived very very simply and they didn't have a lot of money

The populists wen to the people because they wanted to establish relationships with the down stridden peasantry. They wanted to help the people and support there ideas.

- 36 million people were effected by the famine
- The government admitted the truth about the famine
6. Why was Karl Marx important to Russian intellectuals?
Karl Marx was important to the russian intellectuals because he created the book called the Communist Manifesto which was important to all the political parties

Bloody sunday changed peoples attitudes towards the Tsar because people saw how ruthless he was and lost support of his people

-Russians could legally form Political parties and labor unions
-plans for elections and organization of the new government
- the Tsar had all the power and had to distribute it.
